I finally tried the 3 episode rule on a show I hated

Last month I was about to drop an anime after one episode, something I do all the time. A friend told me to stick with it for three, so I gave it a shot. The first episode was confusing, the second was slow, but by the third I was hooked on the worldbuilding. It reminded me of a roofing job in Portland where the first day looked like a mess, then everything clicked by day three. Now I'm wondering how many shows I've missed because I bailed too early. Has anyone else had a show flip for them past episode two?

Man, same thing happened to me with Breaking Bad years ago, bailed halfway through season one and only came back after everyone kept bugging me. Three episodes is a solid rule, way better than my usual one and done.
