I finally get why dubbing fans swear by the Spanish Latin cast

I used to always watch subbed and thought dubs were ruining the emotion until I caught up on Cowboy Bebop in Spanish Latin after a friend literally begged me to try it. The voice actor for Spike just hit different, like he actually captured that laid back cool without sounding forced or awkward like some English dubs I've heard. Has anyone else found a specific language dub that completely changed their mind on a show?

Is it just me or is this like how some music just sounds better in its original language?

Oh, completely agree. There's something about the original language that just hits different, like the artist's actual emotion and intent comes through more clearly. It really reminds me of when I first heard a French song I'd only ever known in an English cover - the original just had a whole other layer of meaning and soul to it. The translation sometimes loses the rhythm and the little cultural references that make the song special. You can't really replace that.
