Had to pick between catching up on 'One Piece' or starting a new seasonal show
I had exactly one free weekend and chose to finally watch the Wano arc instead of checking out that new fantasy anime everyone's talking about, and honestly, I'm still processing all the big moments. It was a great ride, but now I feel totally behind on the current season's chatter. Do you usually prioritize finishing a long-running series or staying current with new releases?

Oh man, I totally get that. I mean, once you're deep into a big arc like Wano, you kind of have to see it through, right? For me, catching up on a long story always wins because the payoff feels bigger than just watching something new and isolated. I'd rather be fully invested in one world than have my attention split on a bunch of shows I'm only half into. Sure, you miss the weekly buzz, but that chatter will still be there later, or you can just binge it all at once. The big moments in a series you love just hit different.

But you miss the whole live experience, the weekly hype with everyone. Binging later just isn't the same, you're totally out of the loop.

Wait, you had just ONE free weekend and you spent it all on the Wano arc? That's... a LOT of episodes to cram in that short a time, my brain would be fried. @kim.wren I get what you mean about missing the weekly hype, but personally I think that big payoff from finishing a long arc like Wano is worth it. For me, I'd rather be fully in that one world than trying to keep up with five new shows where I'm only half paying attention.
