Gave dub a real chance after 8 years of sub-only and now I actually prefer the English voices for Cowboy Bebop

I tried watching episode 5 in dub because my friend insisted Steve Blum's Spike is better, and the emotional punch hit way harder than reading subtitles ever did - anyone else switch sides on this?

Oh man, I was totally in the same boat. I used to think subs were the only way to go for Bebop, especially Spike's original Japanese voice. But I finally caved and watched the whole series dubbed last week and I get it now. Steve Blum brings this worn out coolness to Spike that I missed before, and the scene where Faye finds out about her past hit me way harder in English. I actually felt the loneliness in her voice instead of just reading it. Did you find any specific moments that surprised you in the dub?

Hold up, are we really acting like a slightly different voice actor changes the whole emotional weight of a show? I've watched the sub like five times and never felt like I was missing some secret layer of loneliness just because I was reading. But hey, if you're crying harder in English, @nancys90, more power to you I guess.
