Debate time: is it better to binge a new series or watch it weekly like it airs in Japan?

Last week I binged all of 'Frieren' in two days and loved the flow, but my friend in Tokyo says waiting weekly for each episode builds way more hype and community discussion.

My friend group had to make a rule for new seasons. We watch one episode a week, on Tuesday nights. It forces you to actually talk about the clues instead of just racing to the end. The speculation is the best part, and binging just ruins that.
