Changed my mind on subs vs dubs after a 14 year old at the library anime club
I was hardcore subs only for like 8 years, and honestly kind of smug about it, until I sat in on the teen anime club at the Lynnwood library last month. This 14 year old kid named Marcus said he watches dubs because he reads slow and misses half the action trying to keep up with subtitles, and I just sat there like wow, I never thought of it that way. Then two other kids nodded and said the same thing, and it hit me that my whole "subs are better" thing was really just about me and my reading speed. Now I'm not gonna pretend dubs are always great, some of them are rough, but I finally get why someone would pick them and it's not a lazy choice. Anyone got a dub that actually holds up to the sub? I'd genuinely like to try some.
Wait a 14 year old named Marcus actually changed your mind after 8 years? Thats wild but honestly makes total sense, I never thought about reading speed being the whole reason either.
