Why does everyone forget the floppy drive light on old towers?

Watching folks swap IDE cables around and never check the twisted end for drive select, that's just 3 minutes of frustration they bring on themselves. Every 486 or Pentium I've resurrected since 2009 needed that cable orientation fixed first, has anyone else had to explain this a dozen times?

The twisted cable for drive select got me too. Every old Compaq I touch has that same issue, drives show up as A: instead of B: or just vanish completely. Had a guy swear his floppy was dead, turned out he never flipped the cable end. Now I always check that twist before I even bother testing the drive. Saves me a whole lot of hassle, honestly.
