Rescued my 2006 laptop with a $12 IDE to SD adapter
My ThinkPad T60 wouldn't boot past the BIOS screen last month and the old 80GB hard drive was clicking. I figured it was finally done, but then I found a cheap IDE to SD adapter on eBay for $12 and swapped in a 32GB SD card. It boots Windows XP in under 40 seconds now, which is faster than it ever ran with the original drive. Has anyone else tried these adapters or should I stick a proper SSD in there instead?
