New SSD or old hard drive for a 2009 MacBook? I went with the SSD swap

My 2009 MacBook was crawling, so I had to pick between a $50 SSD and keeping the original 320GB hard drive. I chose the SSD and boot time went from 4 minutes to 40 seconds, but now storage is tight. Has anyone else traded capacity for speed on an older machine, and did you regret it later?
