My ThinkPad T420 bit the dust on Tuesday after 11 years of daily use and I feel like I lost a pet
Posted this from my phone because the screen finally went black after a week of flickering, and I've already spent $45 on ebay hunting for a replacement panel so does anyone have a seller they actually trust for old LCDs or should I just let it go?

Wait, 11 years of daily use?? That is wild. I baby my laptops and they never make it past 5 or 6 before something goes. Honestly the fact that yours kept going that long says a lot about those old T420s. But $45 on ebay already, and you still don't know if the panel is any good? That's the part that would drive me nuts. Tbh I'd probably grab a cheap external monitor and just turn it into a little desktop setup instead of chasing down parts for a screen that might die on you again in a year. Feels less like losing a pet and more like keeping the old girl around, you know?
