Hit 1,000 hours on a Dell laptop from 2012 last night

I've been using this old Latitude for work and light gaming since I got it used off Craigslist. Last night I was entering a moving estimate and noticed the uptime counter in the BIOS said 1,000 hours. That's like 41 straight days of this thing chugging along. Has anyone else checked their old hardware's run time and been surprised?

Found my old ThinkPad at 2,000+ hours once and it still ran like a champ.

but have y'all ever thought about what it says about us that we keep these old machines going? i mean like yeah the hardware is built better obviously but there's gotta be something psychological about it too. like my own personal emotional attachment to my x220 is way deeper than just it being a good laptop. i'll literally fire it up just to hear the fan spin up and feel that keyboard. maybe it's just me but there's a weird comfort in using something that already has all your weird little quirks and software setups from years ago. idk it's like a time capsule or something.
