Goodbye to the last CRT monitor I had in my garage, spotted a 2003 Dell on the curb

I was hauling off an old fridge from my buddy's place in Columbus and there it was, a 17 inch CRT just sitting next to the trash cans. Took it inside and it still flickered to life, but my eyes hurt after 20 minutes of messing with the geometry. Has anyone else finally given up on those old glass tubes just because of the headaches?

Did the screen actually work, or was it just burning your retinas as a final goodbye? Mine put up a fight too, but my neck and eyeballs voted to let it go.
