Found a 1995 Palm Pilot in a box and got it syncing with a modern PC
My dad handed me his old Palm Pilot IIIxe last weekend, and I figured there was no way to get data off it. Tried a free app called Pilot Link on github that emulates the old serial connection over USB, and it actually pulled up his contacts from 1998. Has anyone else had luck with weird adapter combos for these things?

Did a buddy of mine ever try something similar with an old Sony Clie he found in his dad's garage? He spent three hours digging up a serial to USB adapter from like 2004 and some janky software called SyncWizard that took forever to install. It actually worked and pulled up a bunch of old school notes and even some random memos about his dad's garden from 2001. He texted me a screenshot of his dad's old contact list and I couldn't believe it actually showed up. Blew my mind that such old tech can still talk to modern stuff if you find the right adapter.
