Fixing an old laptop fan with a dog hair trick, of all things
I run my own grooming shop and we've got this ancient Dell from 2011 that runs our booking software. Last week it started overheating and shutting off mid-shift. I figured the fan was dead, was ready to order a $40 replacement. Turns out the vents were just packed with years of matted fur and dust from the shop air. My vacuum hose attachment couldn't reach it, so I used a stiff slicker brush to coax it out, same one I use on poodles. That thing boots up now and stays cool for 3 hours straight. Has anyone else found weird non-tech tools that work better than the actual cleaning kit for old hardware?
