After 3 years of fighting it, I finally gave my 2004 ThinkPad a solid state drive and now I get why people swear by it
I thought the old spinner was part of the charm, but then my boot time went from like 4 minutes to 45 seconds and I honestly felt dumb for not trying this back in 2019, has anyone else been late to the SSD swap on a dinosaur laptop and felt the same way?

Damn, 45 seconds is still crazy fast compared to what that machine was doing. Though I gotta say, 2004 is a little old for SATA drives, so if you didn't check the adapter situation first, that could've been a headache. Anyway, better late than never, right?
