My neighbor swore that gas powered trimmers were the only way to go for a clean edge

He spent 20 minutes last Saturday yanking a cord on an old Echo while I finished my whole yard with a Worx battery trimmer before he got his started. Then he admitted his back was killing him from the vibration and asked to borrow mine for his other side. Why are people so stuck in their ways about gas tools when battery stuff works just as good now?

Oh man, that story about his back killing him from the vibration is wild! I mean, I get wanting to stick with what you know, but yanking a cord for 20 minutes while someone else is already done? That's just stubborn pride at that point. I've seen guys at the lot next door swearing by their old gas trimmers like they're some kind of status symbol, then they're limping around the next day. Battery tech has come so far, it's not even a contest for most yards anymore. It's like they think electric means toy or something, but my Ryobi has never left me stranded mid-edge.

Yanking a cord for 20 minutes while someone else is already done" - that got me chuckling. You're right, it's pure stubborn pride. I've seen those gas guys too, acting like they're on a work site from 1985, then hobbling around the next day like they got hit by a truck. I joke that their trimmer should come with a free chiropractor appointment. You'd think the loud noise and the smoke would be enough to make them switch, but no, they'll stand there wrestling with a pull start until they see red. My neighbor still brags about his old Echo, but I finished my whole yard before he even got his gas mix right last Saturday.
