Had a librarian show me how to actually use the library catalog last week

I’m 32 and I’ve been using libraries my whole life, but I never knew you could filter by publication year, format, and even reading level in one search. This librarian at the downtown Seattle branch spent like 10 minutes walking me through it. I found three books on local hiking trails that I’d missed before because I was just typing in random keywords. Has anyone else had a random worker teach you something small that totally changed how you do a basic thing?

My buddy found a book listed online, drove an hour, and it was gone.
