Butted heads with the foreman over bolt checks yesterday...
We were tying in beams and I grabbed an impact wrench to move faster. He shut it down and said torque wrenches are the only right way to avoid loose connections later. I've always trusted my feel after so many years up there... Curious where you all stand on this.
Used to dismiss that vibration talk as paranoid until my deck chair collapsed at a barbecue. Every bolt had worked itself free from years of kids jumping on it. Reading @rowan666's point about machinery really shifted my view on everyday stuff. Now I give a quick wrench check to anything that moves or shakes regularly. It's boring but it beats having things fall apart.
