Am I the only one who drinks water mid-home exercise?

My friend swears by hydrating after, but I sip while moving. What's the best approach?

That part about hydrating during exercise preventing cramps... I actually looked into that once. The science is pretty mixed. Cramps are more about muscle fatigue and maybe salt loss than just being thirsty. Like @taylor.jessica, I also drink during my workout because I get a dry mouth, but I do it for comfort, not really to stop cramps. I used to chug water hoping my side stitch would go away, and it never really did. So sip if you're thirsty, but don't expect it to fix everything.

During my home yoga sessions, I always have a water bottle right next to my mat. I sip water constantly because if I wait, I start to feel dizzy. My friend is like yours, she swears by drinking after, but that just doesn't work for me. I read somewhere that hydrating during exercise can prevent cramps and keep your energy up. So you're definitely not alone in this.

My yoga mat has a permanent water bottle stain from all the sipping. I guess your friend is one of those mystical beings who can sweat without needing a drink. I get so thirsty during downward dog that I might just start using a hydration backpack. Honestly, waiting until after sounds like a sure way to meet the floor in a not so graceful way.
