Unpopular opinion: I started ignoring color theory rules for my client's bakery logo and it actually worked
Everyone says to use warm colors for food, but I went with a cool blue and green palette for 'Sweet Hearth' and their sales jumped 15% in three months. Has anyone else broken a 'design rule' and gotten a surprisingly good result?

Yeah, I read a case study about a coffee shop that did the same thing. They used a dark charcoal grey and a really pale mint green instead of warm browns. It made them look super modern and clean, which pulled in a younger crowd. Sometimes breaking the "right" color rule just makes a brand feel fresh and different in a crowded market. That's probably what happened with your bakery.

Exactly, that "fresh and different" feeling cuts through the noise. It's like a visual reset that makes people stop and look twice.

Rules are more like suggestions anyway. That blue probably made them stand out from every other bakery using orange and red. Good on you for trusting your gut.
