I saw a mural in my town last month that completely changed how I think about using negative space.

We had a mural go up downtown last year that's just a giant blue square with a tiny red dot in the corner. The artist called it "The Vastness of Being" and charged the city eight grand. I guess the negative space is where my tax dollars went.
