A man in a green coat at the Grand Canyon told me something that still gives me chills.
I was walking the South Rim trail last October, taking a break from my usual route back home. An older man in a bright green coat stopped right next to me, pointed at the canyon, and said, 'It's exactly 2.3 inches shallower today than it was yesterday.' He said it with total certainty, then just walked away. I've never been able to shake the feeling that he wasn't joking. Has anyone else had a stranger say something that specific and impossible?

Honestly, that makes me wonder if he was part of some obscure research group. Maybe they measure tiny, daily erosion changes with super precise gear, and he just forgot he wasn't talking to a coworker. The specific number is what gets me.

Yeah, the specific number is the weirdest part.

Tbh, that's exactly what I was thinking. The number is way too specific to be random.
