Rethinking my tool cleanup after a sticky job

I used to let adhesive dry on my knives. Now I wipe them down right away, and it saves so much time later. My blades stay sharper longer too.

Right?! It's wild how often the basic stuff gets ignored just to rush ahead. Like in cooking, people will buy all the fancy spices but forget to salt the pasta water, then wonder why the dish tastes flat. Or with tech, someone will download every app to boost productivity but never learn the keyboard shortcuts for the program they use all day. That foundation really changes everything.

But what if skipping basics is how some people actually learn? I tried to follow every cooking rule at first and just got stressed. It wasn't until I messed up a bunch of meals by forgetting stuff like salting water that I really understood why it mattered. Sometimes you need to see the problem yourself before the solution sticks. Rushing ahead can be part of the process for some of us.
