Nah, I gotta disagree with the idea that suction stuff is always gonna fail. When eva225 says 'anything that relies on suction is just waiting to let you down,' that's just not my experience. Like @jasons93 brought up Consumer Reports, but those tests don't account for clean surfaces and proper suction. I've used heavy-duty suction cups for years on my car mount and never had a drop. People blame the suction when they skip the prep work, but do it right and it holds up fine.

My aunt's shower caddy fell off twice last month because of those cheap suction cups. It's like anything that relies on suction is just waiting to let you down when you least expect it. Makes me double-check everything now before trusting it with something heavy.
