Was cleaning an old studio in Portland and found a receipt for a 1970s glory hole rebuild that cost $12.
Found it tucked in a dusty manual for a Bethlehem bench burner. The receipt was from a place called 'The Hot Spot' and the work order just said 'reline and patch, urgent.' Can't imagine getting that done for twelve bucks now. Anyone else stumble on weird bits of glass history in old spaces?

Nah, that's gotta be fake. Twelve bucks wouldn't even cover the gas to get there back then. Probably just a joke receipt someone left as a prank.

Remember that gas station map from 1993 showing local prices. One spot in Ohio had regular for 89 cents a gallon. If @tylerw92 is talking about a short trip in a small car, maybe 13 gallons round trip, that's about eleven fifty just for fuel. The twelve bucks on the receipt could have covered it, with fifty cents left for a candy bar. Makes the receipt seem a lot more possible.
