My propane line froze up in the middle of a big vase pull
I was working in my garage studio last winter, trying to pull a 20-inch vase section. The temperature dropped below 20 degrees and my propane line just iced over, cutting the flame. I had the gather on the pipe and it started to cool fast. I grabbed my heat gun and aimed it at the regulator and hose for about two minutes until the gas started flowing again, then got the piece back in the glory hole. Has anyone found a better fix for this cold weather issue?

My buddy had the same problem and ran a small space heater near his propane tank. It kept the whole setup just warm enough to avoid freezing. He says it works better than trying to thaw a line mid-project.

So he's using a heater to stop his heater fuel from freezing?

But honestly... that heat gun trick is a total lifesaver. A space heater is just another thing to trip over in a crowded shop, and it's heating a whole area instead of the exact spot that's frozen. Why warm up the air when you can fix the line directly in two minutes? It's way faster and gets you back to work.
