Pro tip: I had to pick between a rock hammer and a regular hammer for a stubborn piece of granite in my yard.
Went with the regular hammer. It bounced right off and my neighbor yelled 'sounds like you're building a railroad!' Anyone know a better tool for breaking up surface rock?
That railroad comment from your neighbor is hilarious lol. But come on, is a single piece of granite really worth renting a demo hammer? Those things are heavy and a pain to deal with. I'd just try a masonry chisel and a heavier sledge, see if you can crack it first. Sometimes people go straight for the biggest tool when a little more elbow grease with the right one does the trick.
