Why does nobody talk about the noise from those big air compressors?

I was at my buddy's place in Tempe and his 60-gallon unit was so loud we had to stop talking. Everyone says you need the biggest one you can get, but I think a smaller, quiet compressor is better for a home garage. Has anyone found a good quiet model that still has enough power for impact tools?

Tbh it's like when politicians shout the loudest about some issue but quietly pass laws that actually matter. We get used to the noise and stop listening, so it becomes background static. Honestly it's just our brains protecting us from being overwhelmed by everything that's screaming for attention.
