My brother said to ignore the star rating and read the one-star reviews first

I thought he was crazy until I bought a fitness tracker that had 4.5 stars. The one-star reviews all said the band breaks after 3 months, and mine snapped right on schedule. How do you guys spot the real deal-breakers in reviews?

Ugh, that's smart. I always sort by "most recent" now too. Filters out the fake hype from launch day.

Yeah, I used to trust the top reviews until I got burned by a bad product with all five-star ratings from launch week. Sorting by recent like @caleb_bell said shows you what people actually think after using it for a while. It's the only way to get a real picture now.

Honestly I just look at the average and buy it. Reading all the bad reviews just makes you paranoid about stuff that probably won't even happen to you.
