I thought the battery life on my new tablet was just okay until I saw the actual test numbers
I was reading a review on TechRadar that ran a continuous video playback test, and my model got 14 hours. The one I almost bought only got 9.5. Makes you wonder how many reviews just guess at the battery life instead of actually testing it, right?

Wow, that's a huge difference. Most decent tech sites do actually test battery life now, but you gotta check their testing method.

Bet they tested it in airplane mode with the brightness all the way down, while running a screensaver of a potato. "10 hours battery life!" Yeah, if you're willing to live like it's 1995.

Totally! My buddy bought a laptop based on a review saying it got 9 hours. Turns out they tested it with the screen super dim and just playing a local video file. He uses it for normal stuff, browsing and docs, and it barely hits 5 hours. He was so mad! It really shows how the testing method changes everything. You can't just trust the number they put in the headline.
