My simple trick to avoid weekend work as a freelancer

I was always exhausted from saying yes to every job. So I made a rule to not take work after 5 PM on Fridays. It was scary at first, but now my weekends are free. How do you handle setting limits with clients? I need some more ideas.

I feel for @nathan_patel, my clients used to treat weekends like regular workdays too until I set hard cutoffs.
