My client offered to pay me in 'exposure' or a single vintage button from their collection

I picked the button, and now it's pinned to my corkboard as a $0 reminder to always check the payment terms before starting. Anyone else get offered truly bizarre 'payment' that made you laugh and cry at the same time?

Ever see that story about the designer who got paid in a bag of magic beans? (It was literally dried beans from their garden.)

Oh man, that's a new low. Hope those beans at least made a good soup. Some clients really have no clue.
