Just realized my cable organization mistake almost ended a key meeting
I was sorting wires behind my desk and accidentally pulled out my internet router. This happened right in the middle of a video call with a potential new partner. They were ready to disconnect before I got back online. Now I always test my setup after any room changes to avoid income loss.

Testing after every single change seems excessive when mishaps are so uncommon. You could spend all day checking cables instead of getting real work done. A dropped call isn't the end of the world anyway, people understand slip-ups.

Remember when I tried to tidy my own cable nest and ended up yanking the power strip for my external hard drive. It was during a big file transfer, and the thing just died, lost everything. That was a way more expensive lesson than a dropped call, trust me. So now I'm paranoid about touching any wires unless everything is fully shut down, no exceptions. It's not about testing every single time, it's about learning what kind of mess actually costs you.
