Talked to my old foreman at the Iron City Foundry reunion last weekend...
He asked if I was still using the same venting setup on my greensand station from 10 years ago. I said yeah, and he just shook his head and said 'You're moving 800 pounds of sand a day through a 4-inch duct... that's like breathing through a straw.' It finally clicked why my cleanup time has been so long. Has anyone else redone their venting recently and seen a real difference?

Man, that's rough. I feel you on the cleanup time, that stuff gets old fast. Jade221 might have been lucky, but a 4-inch line sounds way too small for that much sand.

My old shop ran a 4-inch line for years without major dust issues. Maybe your cleanup problem is something else.
