Just found a meal prep trick that saves my lunch breaks

I work in a foundry, and our shifts are long and hot. I used to bring sandwiches that got soggy in the heat. Now I make cold bean salads on my days off. They stay fresh in my lunchbox and give me energy. My crew tried it and everyone likes it. It's a small win that makes the day better.

Ever try putting your dressing in a tiny separate container and mixing it in right before you eat? That keeps stuff from getting soggy. A little vinegar in the dressing helps beans keep for days too. Good call on the black beans, they hold up better than most.

Oh great, bean salads. Nothing says "refreshing lunch break" like cold beans in a foundry. Hope your locker room has good ventilation, man. My crew would riot if I brought that in. We'd smell like a cheap burrito place after a hard day's sweat.

Yikes, been there. Mason jars are your friend, the tight seal helps a lot. Toss in an ice pack with your lunchbox to keep it chilled until you eat. And honestly, skip the chickpeas or kidney beans, those are the real smell offenders (learned that the hard way). A cold lentil or black bean salad with lots of vinegar in the dressing is way less risky around coworkers.
