I thought those new ceramic pouring cups were just a gimmick.
Our shop in Toledo got a set to try about 4 months ago. I was sure they'd crack under the heat or be a pain to clean. But we've run over 200 pours through one cup, and the metal flow is just smoother, way less turbulence. It cut down on our slag inclusion issues by a solid amount. I have to admit, I was wrong. Has anyone else switched over and seen real results, or did we just get lucky?

Honestly, I'm more worried about the handle getting too hot. The ceramic itself holds up, but that metal band they use to attach it gets wild after a few pours.

Yeah, that band is basically a branding iron by the second cup. Guess they want to make sure you're awake.

Actually, I've never had that issue with mine at all.
