Found a perfectly good office chair in the alley behind my apartment in Denver

I spotted it last Thursday, a little dirty but the wheels and height adjust still worked fine. I gave it a wipe down and now it's my new WFH seat, saved me at least $80. Anyone else find furniture that just needed a quick clean?

Nice find! Honestly, some of the best stuff gets tossed just because it's dusty. My whole patio set came from a curb and it's held up for years.

That patio set story is a good example. How do you decide if something is worth the cleanup effort versus actual trash? I've passed on a few items because the work seemed like too much.

Are you really telling me you've passed on perfectly good finds just because of a little dirt? Look, I get it, some stuff is just too far gone with rust or broken parts you can't fix. But a lot of times people throw away things that just need a good scrub and a coat of paint. I say if the basic bones of it are solid, like no major cracks or rot, then it's worth the elbow grease. @the_amy is right about dust being the biggest liar out there. You just gotta look past the grime and see if the shape and material are still good.
