Remember when the 'Cascade Creek' footage from 2018 got scrubbed from every major site overnight?

I was up late in my old apartment in Tacoma, watching that shaky cam video of the hiker who filmed a tall, thin figure moving between trees near the creek bed. The next morning, it was just gone from YouTube and Vimeo, like it never existed. It made me start downloading anything truly strange right away, because you never know when it'll vanish. Anyone else have a go-to method for saving this stuff before it gets deleted?

Yeah it's wild how stuff like this just disappears with no explanation lol. Makes you wonder what else gets scrubbed from the internet that we never even hear about.

Wasn't there a rumor that the Cascade Creek thing got flagged by some wildlife agency for showing a protected area? I read a forum post ages ago saying the takedown notice came from a government office, not a copyright claim. I save stuff by using a browser add-on that grabs the video file directly to my hard drive.
