Why does nobody talk about the 1994 album 'God Shuffled His Feet' by Crash Test Dummies?

I grabbed a used vinyl copy for about $15 at a flea market last month, and it's been on repeat ever since, especially the track 'Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm'. I'd completely forgotten how weird and brilliant their baritone vocals and oddball lyrics were, and now I'm wondering what other 90s alt-rock gems I've missed. What's a forgotten one-hit-wonder album from that era you think still holds up?

Oh man, you just unlocked a core memory! I read an article a while back that called that album a perfect slice of weird 90s alt-pop that got way too overshadowed by that one single. For a forgotten album, I'd say check out "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy" by Sarah McLachlan. Everyone knows her from the Lilith Fair stuff later, but that whole record is moody and amazing, way before "Angel" got played to death. It's got this cool, dark vibe that really holds up.

Nah, that album's way too sleepy for me. Give me something with some actual energy.

The first time I heard "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy" I actually thought it was too quiet and dragged on forever. But then I listened to it on a long drive late at night and it totally clicked for me. @ray_webb6 is right, that whole record has a dark moody feel that most people miss because they only know the big singles.
