TIL the drummer from that 90s band 'The Grottoes' was only 16 when they recorded their first album
I was digging through the liner notes of their 1994 album 'Mudlark' and saw his birth year. Did the math and it blew my mind. Found this out on a fan wiki that's basically just one guy's project. Has anyone else found a wild fact like that in an old CD booklet?

Totally get that feeling. Found something similar with a local punk band from the late 80s. Their bassist was a 40 year old high school teacher, which seemed crazy for that scene. Those old liner notes are full of surprises if you take the time to look. That fan wiki sounds like a goldmine for weird details most people would never know.

Three years later that bassist probably had detention hall beat down by half the punk scene AND the principal was probably too scared to say anything about it. I swear those liner notes are like reading a soap opera where everyone has a secret identity and a day job they hate. It makes you wonder how many of these older musicians are just regular people hiding behind a guitar and some distortion. At least my boring life doesn't come with a secret side gig that blows my mind every time I dig through the archives. Honestly, that fan wiki sounds like it belongs in a museum more than most of the actual music does.

I found out the singer from my favorite local ska band was actually a 42 year old city councilman. Makes my own life feel pretty boring by comparison, like I peaked at remembering my library card PIN number. Those liner notes are the best for making you question all your life choices.
