Question about that 'lost' 1997 album 'Mouthful of Wasps' by Splint

I finally tracked down a copy after 6 months and it's just... aggressively fine, which somehow feels worse than it being bad. Has anyone else been let down by an album you hunted forever?

Found a rare bootleg once that just made me miss the studio version.

Had that happen with a live recording of my favorite band. The mix was just a muddy mess, couldn't hear the guitar line at all. Went straight back to the album version and it was like cleaning my ears. Sometimes the raw take just doesn't capture what made the song special.
