My wife said my 'forgotten album' picks were too obvious
I was playing 'The Best of The Guess Who' from 1971, and she pointed out that a greatest hits compilation from a band that still gets classic rock radio play doesn't really fit the 'forgotten' part. Now I'm digging deeper into stuff like 'Mott' by Mott the Hoople, which nobody I know remembers. What's an album you thought was obscure that actually wasn't?

Been there for sure. I played a Steely Dan record once thinking it was deep cut material, but my buddy just laughed. Turns out everyone knows "Reelin' In the Years." It's easy to forget what's actually common knowledge. Your wife has a point about greatest hits albums. Digging into stuff like Mott the Hoople is the right move. Finding those truly forgotten records feels like a win.

Man, that Steely Dan story is too real. It makes you wonder what else we all just assume is obscure. Like, I found this old "Faces" record thinking I'd uncovered something, only to learn "Ooh La La" is in every Wes Anderson movie. So what's your white whale? That one album you're sure nobody else knows, but you're almost scared to check?
