Honestly, I used to think '90s alt-rock was just Nirvana and Pearl Jam

Then I found a copy of 'Fuzzy' by Grant Lee Buffalo from 1993 in a Portland record bin, and it completely changed my view of that whole scene. Anyone else have a forgotten album that rewired a genre for them?

Man, that feeling is the best. Finding one of those lost albums that just clicks and makes a whole era make more sense. It's like finding a missing piece. Fuzzy is a great example, that record has such a weird, cool vibe. Makes you realize how much amazing stuff was hiding just under the surface back then.

Remember my buddy who only listened to big 90s rap? He found a cassette of Digable Planets' "Reachin'" at a yard sale and it blew his mind. Said it was like finding a whole new layer to the music he thought he knew.
