I learned to always check allergy info the hard way

A client said no roses, but I put them in her centerpiece. She got a rash when she picked it up. What do you do to keep allergy notes from getting missed when it's busy?

At my friend's floral shop in Austin, they get SO many orders that allergy notes just BLEND in. Honestly, if a client has a severe issue, they should double-check the arrangement themselves. It's not always on the florist to catch EVERY detail.

Exactly. My cousin runs a small shop and it's the same story. They have a tiny team trying to handle hundreds of orders a week. Those allergy notes are just a line in a huge list of instructions. If it's that serious, the person getting the flowers needs to give a quick call. Expecting a florist to remember every single note for every single order is just not how it works in the real world.

Question whether this is fair to customers. If a shop gets lots of orders, that's no excuse to ignore safety notes. (I mean, come on.) Allergies can be life or death, not just a small detail. Other places, like restaurants, have to take allergies seriously. So why should florists get a pass? It seems lazy to put the blame on clients for not double-checking.
