Switched to a different underlayment for a glue-down LVP job last month

The client wanted a quieter floor, so I used a 3mm cork underlayment instead of the usual foam. I figured it would help with sound and maybe feel a bit softer underfoot. After the glue set, the floor felt solid, but I started hearing a faint clicking sound when people walked on it. Took me a week to figure out the cork was too firm and the LVP planks were flexing just enough at the joints to make that noise. I learned that not all underlayments play nice with every install method, even if they seem like a good idea. Has anyone else run into this with cork under a glue-down vinyl job?

Cork's a gamble for glue-down.

Wait, why is it a gamble, @jesse84? I've heard it can buckle if the subfloor isn't perfect. That seems like the main risk to me.

Nah man, proper prep and it's solid. I've laid it myself without issues.
