Rant: I used to think you needed to post on every single finance forum to get good advice

For years, I was on five different forums every night, trying to keep up with all the stock tips and debt payoff threads. About eight months ago, I got totally burned out and just stuck with one smaller forum focused on early retirement. The signal-to-noise ratio is WAY better, and I'm not constantly chasing the 'hot take' of the day from some random poster. I realized most of the big, popular forums just have the same arguments over and over. Has anyone else ditched the big forums for a smaller, more focused one and actually seen better results?

Switching to one small forum saved my sanity and my portfolio.

So you cut out all the noise and just stuck with one spot. What made you pick that specific forum over the bigger ones? Was it the slower pace or the fact people actually talked about real trades instead of hype?
