I finally figured out how to spot the real advice from the noise on big finance boards

For months, I was getting lost reading hundreds of posts about the same stocks. Last week, I started sorting replies by 'oldest first' on any hot topic thread. The first 20 or so comments are usually from people who actually did the research, not just hype. I saved over 3 hours of reading time just yesterday by skipping the later pages of repetitive arguments. It sounds simple, but it changed how I use those sites. Has anyone else found a specific trick to filter out the junk posts faster?

My uncle swears by printing out posts and reading them with a red pen.

That's a solid tip for finding the early analysis. The problem is, sometimes the oldest comments are just people asking for the basic info everyone already knows. A better filter might be looking for users with a long posting history on that specific board, not just the first to comment. They usually have more skin in the game.
