Why does nobody talk about how much fake blood stains your gear

I used to just grab whatever Halloween blood from the party store for my short films, but after I ruined a $200 jacket on a shoot last year I switched to making my own with corn syrup and food coloring. Now my props last way longer and I don't freak out every time something gets messy. Anyone got a good recipe for blood that doesn't destroy fabric but still looks real on camera?

Honestly I still use the corn syrup stuff but @felix_thomas73 has a point about the ants. Did a shoot in my backyard once and for weeks I had a trail of them marching like they were headed to a blood buffet. Ngl the dish soap trick kinda blew my mind though, I'm definitely trying that for the next project where I don't want to sacrifice another hoodie.

The real secret is that corn syrup blood leaves a sticky mess that attracts ants for days. Learned that the hard way during an outdoor shoot. For fabric safe blood I just use dish soap with red food coloring and a tiny drop of blue. It washes right out but still looks gross enough for a zombie flick.
