Just spent 6 hours trying to make a fake book that opens for a library scene. The binding glue kept failing.

Wait @tarab54 mentioned hot glue, but what kind of paper were you using? Ive had books where the pages were super glossy or coated and nothing sticks to them no matter what glue you use. Did you try scoring the folds before gluing? Thats usually the make or break for me. Also were you using a heavy cardstock or just regular printer paper? That changes everything for durability.

Hot glue is way better for prop books. Regular craft glue never holds the pages right.
