Just realized how crucial prop curing times are for silicone casts

I mean, skipping a day to dry will wreck your whole batch.

Ever learn that the hard way by rushing a project? I made some truly sad, bendy props once because I got impatient. Now I just set a timer and walk away.

Rushing just makes you do things twice. I learned that after a prop fell apart right before a show. Now I follow the same timer method, no exceptions.

My last batch of dragon scale gloves came out perfect with a 36 hour cure, even though the bottle said 48. I feel like the listed times are more of a safety net for the company. Humidity in my garage seems to change things more than a few hours on the clock. I've had stuff cure too fast and get brittle when I followed the time exactly. Now I just go by touch and how the material looks.
